Hundreds of over-the-counter medical items, including well-known mouthwash, antacids, hand sanitizers, and sunscreens, are being voluntarily recalled by Family Dollar.
The company announcement published on the website of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states that the recall affects numerous brands of various medical products. Among them are Mucinex Fastmax Cold & Flu, Coppertone Waterbabies Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, Secret Powder Fresh Invisible Solid Antiperspirant, and Crest Anti Cavity Toothpaste.
The recall also applies to other goods like lip balms, ointments, and painkiller gels. You can find a complete list of the affected products here.
The recalled goods’ storage “outside of labeled temperature requirements” is the problem.
The problem that could arise as a result of the temperature issue was not specified by the company.
Family Dollar stated that it had not yet received any consumer complaints or reports of illness connected to the recall.
The recalled goods were “inadvertently shipped” to retail establishments between May 1 and June 10. According to the company, Family Dollar stores in Delaware did not receive any of the recalled goods, so the state is unaffected by the recall. Since there are no Family Dollar stores in Alaska or Hawaii, those two states are also unaffected.
The company stated that “This recall goes to the retail store level.” “Family Dollar has notified its affected stores, requesting that they check their stock immediately, quarantine any affected products, and stop selling them.”
Customers with a faulty product may also take it back to the Family Dollar location where they purchased it. Those who have inquiries about the recall can get in touch with the business at 844-636-7687. They should get in touch with a medical professional if they experience any negative side effects after using a contaminated product.
The recall also affects well-known brands like Listerine mouthwash, Vicks Vaporub, some Purell hand sanitizers, Tylenol caplets, and some types of Colgate toothpaste.
